  1. Aww, it looks like she's holding onto the pink bunny (puppy?)! So sweet!

She looks so alive in the more recent pictures, it's hard to fathom that she's not here anymore.

  2. Camille, all of the top pictures were all taken within a week of her death.

  4. I am 5 months pregnant. I just found out that my baby girl has a diaphragmatic hernia. I'm going in for further testing on Monday. I'm so scared. I don't know if I thought that this sort of thing would never happen to me but it just never crossed my mind. Reading about your struggle and looking at your pictures... I don't know what to say. Or what to think. I'm not as strong as you are. But I know I'm going to have to be really strong.

  5. Tara, I am so sorry to hear of your daughters diagnosis. Im going to venture that you are so much stronger than you realize, because you read Grace's story. When she was first born, I skipped any story that did not end with the baby going home with no issues. I even skipped babies who went home with feeding tubes because I just could NOT picture that being us. I was just so in shock I think. So, mama you are very strong, and even when you aren't that is totally ok. Where are you located, do you know what hospital you will deliver at? There are so many survivors, have you joined CHERUBS? or Breath of Hope? Tons of support on both of them. www.thehardylife.blogspot.com is Clara's story, she had a beginnig like Grace but is now a happy, healthy almost 2 year old. Feel free to contact me at anytime if you'd like. I will be thinking of you:)

  6. I'm located in wisconsin rapids, WI. I just found out about my babys issue 2 days ago so I haven't had much time to look into doctors. I'm being referred to a doctor named dr mascola and she's in marshfield. However, I haven't been able to find any info online about her knowledge of diaphragmatic hernias. I'm going to church tomorrow any hoping for plenty of healing prayers. I don't know what to do. I can't just sit in bed all day crying. I have another daughter. She's four and she lives with her father. I signed her over to her dad almost 3 years ago because of a problem I had. So I was really hoping that this was going to be my second chance. I'm trying to remain opimistic.

    1. Miranda,
I'm not sure if you'll see this. I've obviously had my baby girl. And she's as healthy as I prayed for. Her name is Audrina Joan Verage. She had a huge defect. She was given a 50% chance. We remained at the hospital for a little over 2 months. She went home without a feeding tube. Even the doctors were amazed at her. She'll be 3 February 25. She's truly the best blessing ever! I probably spoil her too much and baby her too much because of the pregnancy and the beginning of her life but I can't help it. She's an inspiration to me and she doesn't even know it.
